چکیده

Structural and thermodynamic properties of hydrogen molecular clusters formed around an atomic or molecular cation are examined. The shell distribution of H2 molecules and the size of the clusters are discussed. The Bloom-Margenau model for predicting the number of neutral molecules that could bind to a cation core is investigated and its limitations are illustrated using the Li(H2)k clusters as test case. Finally, results for the entropy of the Hn clusters (n = 5− 27, odd) and for the Gibbs free energy variations associated to the cluster formation are presented and the spontaneity of the clustering process in different conditions is examined.

Role of Hydrogen Transfer and Ionic Bonding on RR, SS and RS Medetomidine Conglomerates/Acids Stability: A Theoretical Study

This study focuses on RR, SS and RS medetomidine (MM) and inclusion of several achiral acids to distinguish which acid can help conglomerate formation instead of crystallizating racemic mixtures by defining the low-lying energy of their structures. Favorable orientation of acids was determined in interaction with the MM enantiomers after optimization. The most noticeable interactions include hy...

Solvent effects on protonation and complexation of histidine with molybdenum (VI) at different aqueous solutions of methanol

The formation constants of the species formed in the systems H+ + Mo(VI) + histidine and H+ +histidine have been determined at different aqueous solutions of methanol (0 - 45 % v/v) at 25 °C andconstant ionic strength (0.1 mol dm-3 sodium perchlorate), using a combination of spectrophotometricand potentiometric techniques. The composition of the complex species was determined by thecontinuous v...

Protonation of Propene on Silica-Grafted Hydroxylated Molybdenum and Tungsten Oxide Metathesis Catalysts: A DFT Study

Theoretical assessment of the protonation reaction in the activation of propene on hydroxylated Mo(VI) and W(VI) metathesis catalysts is presented in this paper using the density functional theory calculations and five support clusters varying from simple SiO4H3 clusters to a large Si4O13H9 cluster. The bond distances and thermochemical...

Thermodynamic Study on the Interaction between Fe2+(aq) ion and LAlanine

Using UV-VIS spectrophotometric method, the formation constant for interaction of Fe2+(aq) ion with L-Alaninewas experimentally studied at pH = 4.1 ± 0.01 (50mM of potassium hydrogen phthalate buffer), ionic strengthof 0.1M potassium nitrate and at 5 different temperatures 15,20, 25,30 and 35 T. The optical absorption spectraof mixtures containing considered cation and L-Alanine were analyzed b...

Ionic liquid N-ethylpyridinium hydrogen sulfate as an efficient catalyst for designing indole scaffolds and their antimicrobial behavior

Ionic liquid N-ethylpyridinium hydrogen sulfate has been prepared, characterized and used as an efficient recyclable catalyst for the synthesis of a series of indoles and bis(indolyl)methanes. Latter have been further explored for their potential antimicrobial activity against E coli and Bacillus. The ionic liquid used was recycled in the end and its recovery was facilitated b...
